Rotary Scholarship Initiative Sees Third Edition with Notable Participation

WARSAW, 24 January 2023 - The Rotary Club of Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin has once again showcased its commitment to education and youth empowerment. The club has proudly launched the third edition of its esteemed Rotary Scholarship. This initiative, which has garnered significant attention in its previous editions, saw the collaboration of several clubs this year. Joining hands with RC Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin were RC Warsaw Konstancin, RC Warsaw Józefów, Rotary Club of Warsaw, RC Białystok, RC Stargard, and the Piotr Kotowski Foundation, a corporate member of RC Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin.

The Scholarship Committee, responsible for overseeing the application and selection process, comprises representatives from each participating club and foundation. A notable member of this committee was Dr. Jacek Gajewski, a distinguished member of the Rotary Club of Warsaw. His involvement, along with others, ensures a thorough and fair evaluation process. Each club and the Foundation have shown their dedication by pledging financial support for this noble cause. Depending on the capabilities of the respective club, scholarships are being offered in amounts of 3,800 PLN, 1,000 PLN, or multiples thereof.

The application window, which opened on January 15, will run until February 28, 2023. This scholarship is specially designed for young individuals, targeting those up to the age of 18. With the current scholarship pool already surpassing 25,000 PLN, it's evident that the initiative has garnered substantial support.

Reflecting on the past successes of this initiative, the first edition saw a collection of 67 applications, out of which five deserving students were awarded scholarships. The second edition witnessed even greater enthusiasm, with over 220 applications received. Yet again, five scholarships were granted. The widespread interest is not just limited to Warsaw. Applications have been pouring in from all corners of Poland, a testament to the initiative's reach and reputation. The entire application and evaluation process is streamlined through an online platform, with applications being submitted via www.stypendiumrotary.pl. Post the application phase, the Committee engages with the finalists through an online video conferencing system, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation.

With the combined efforts of multiple clubs, dedicated individuals like Dr. Jacek Gajewski, and the robust online platform, the Rotary Scholarship initiative promises to make a significant impact in its third edition. The commitment to fostering education and supporting the youth remains unwavering among the Rotary community in Poland.
